Dato’ Lukman Ibrahim, a Malaysian, aged 45, was appointed as a Non-Executive Non-Independent Director of Bank Muamalat, nominated by DRB-HICOM Berhad on 18 November 2011.
He obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude) in 1989 and Master of Business Administration in 1990 from Temple University, Philadelphia, USA. He is a Fellow of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), a member of Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
Dato’ Lukman started his career in 1989 with Sun Refining and Marketing, Philadelphia, USA before joining Automotive Corporation (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in 1990 and later he joined Proton Berhad in 1991. He established his career with Proton where he spent 17 years of his working life. His appointment immediately prior to joining DRB-HICOM was as Managing Director of PHN Industry Sdn Bhd on secondment from Proton.
Dato’ Lukman joined DRB-HICOM in 2008 as Group Chief of Finance, a position which was later re-designated as Group Chief Financial Officer. He was promoted to his current position as Group Chief Operating Officer in June 2011.
Dato’ Lukman also holds directorship in several subsidiaries and associate companies of DRB-HICOM including POS Malaysia Berhad. In addition, he is the Chairman of Audit Committee for Proton Parts Centre Sdn Bhd, Defense Services Sdn Bhd and Glenmarie Asset Management Sdn Bhd.
